Enterprise Park Development.
Wainwrights were appointed as Architects, Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to deliver the development of Monkton Enterprise Park for Barnsley Council.
The project is a new industrial / commercial development, located close to the green belt boundary that separates Barnsley and Wakefield Councils.
The scheme consists of 10 new industrial units that range in size from 1,000sqft to 5,000sqft aimed towards start-up companies within the local area. The project involves providing a new access road onto the site as well as car parking in order to cope with the demands of traffic. In addition, the Client also requested a visitor centre for the nearby Rabbit Ings Park which would be a local hub for the community of Royston as well as the Park.

The 64-hectare site is located on the former colliery yard and spoil heap of the Monkton Colliery and sits on the Royston Drift Mine, which closed in 1989. The site is home to an array of wildlife which includes newts, snakes and herons.
